Each year we have an opportunity to select two students to send to the Encounters with Canada Program. Students aged 14 - 17 go to Ottawa for a week with other teens from across Canada to learn about Canadian institutions, meet famous and accomplished Canadians, explore exciting career options, develop their civic leadership skills and live an extraordinary bilingual experience. There is a registration fee of $675.
If you took part in the SEVEC exchange, would like to improve your leadership skills, take a trip to Ottawa and meet with other teens from across Canada .... then you should apply to be part of the Youth Advisory Committee at Sevec. Visit the website www.sevec.ca - check the link "Participants" and click on Youth Advisory Committee to apply.
Our athletes are back and brought some metal with them. Jonathan Leblanc (gold--Shotput), Sandy Mundle (bronze-Shotput), Shawn Roberts (bronze), Haley Warman (bronze), Isisah Francis(gold) for the 4x100 Cross Provincial Relay. The experience for some was a first time look at a city other than Moncton and they without a doubt loved every minute of it. They were very appreciative of everything Nike has done to make this a truly "awesome" experience. Thank you to Julie Hudson for all her support, Ms. Davis, Mr. Fullerton and Mr.
Increasingly, we are experiencing students arriving late for class, following a trip for caffeine. Effective immediately, students arriving late - but with their refreshment of choice - will not be permitted into class, regardless if they were transported by parent, relative or a peer. Disruptions to the learning environment must be kept to a minimum and we are seeing some students creating unnecessary disturbances.
