"Not that far from Bethlehem" ... (featuring our own Brodie Theriault) will be held on Saturday, Dec 1st @ 7:00pm at Immaculate Conception Church in Rexton. Tickets are $5.00. All proceeds will be donated to the Kent County Food Bank. Please plan to attend and enjoy some amazing local talent while supporting this most worthwhile cause.
Once again we are proud to support the Kent County Food Bank. A competition between the grades has begun and will run until Dec. 14th. Students from BLMS will be collecting non-perishable food items, volunteering at the food bank and awarding prizes over the next four weeks. Parents wishing to get involved can send in their donation or bring something in during Parent/Teacher interviews Nov. 22/23rd, fill out a ballot in your son/daughter's name for a chance to win a prize. All donations are greatly appreciated.
Since 2004 the Rexton Credit Union has been offering banking to students at BLMS through the Bengal Credit Union at lunch.This week has been designated Bengal Credit Union Week. Notices were sent home last week outlining the services and how to open an account. Students have the option of being able to withdraw, deposit, cash checks right here at BLMS. A booth will be set up each lunch hour and again during Parent/Teacher interviews on Thursday evening for anyone wishing more information or to set up an account.
The District Education Council representative for this area - Raymond Murphy - will be hosting an evening session for the three local PSSCs . That meeting will take place this evening at 7:00pm at Eleanor W. Graham Middle School.
The school community will be recognizing Remembrance Day with grade level celebrations on Friday, November 9th. There will be no scheduled classes for students on Monday, November 12th.
It is not a score, but rather an anti-gambling presentation that was offered in the Gym, this morning to all students. Following the dramatic presentation the group entertained comments and questions from the students. Hopefully this presentation will give students an opportunity to look at the real cost of gambling and open up a discussion about a topic that effects us all.
There will be a meeting for the parents and guardians of students in the Grad Class of June 2013. Meeting is set for Tuesday, Nov. 6th @ 7:00pm, in the school library. Hope to see you there!
The Tom Graham bridge on Route 510, through the 'city' of Main River will be closed to all traffic Nov 6 - 23rd inclusive. Regular bus routes that will be impacted by this closure have been given alternate routes and students will be advised of their change.
