Four of our students have been selected to attend the 53rd Youth Leadership at Mount Allison University this July. The camp is sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion and runs July 15 - 22. Students selected to participate are Jessica Fullerton, Myles Brown, Desmond Simon and Ian Scully.
The Gaia project is here with tool that would gives students a hands on learning experience with alternative energy. The Mobile Energy Centre is a 4m long trailer that contains a number of different pieces of interactive alternative energy equipment all controlled through 5 touch screen computer interfaces. Graham Food Services is hiring to fill a position at Bonar Law Memorial School Cafeteria as Floor Manager and cook, beginning in September.This position will require the daily operation of the cafeteria as well as being responsible for the main course meal, maintaining the cash, food orders and making a daily deposit at the Rexton Credit Union.Approximately 35hrs per week, salary will be discussed.Must have the National Food Safety Course and experience in cooking for a large number of people.
The French Oratory competition was held over the past weekend at the Universite de Moncton. Two students from BLMS came away winners. Vanessa Steinmann, a grade eleven student placed 1st for her speech on Anti-Fracking and Corey Lawson, grade 12 came in 3rd for his speech on Genetically Modified Organisms. Thank you for representing Bonar Law and congratulations on your win.
Graduates are asked to see Ms LeBlanc in the library to be fitted for their graduation gown and cap. There is a deposit of $20 required; this will be reimbursed on graduation day, after the ceremonies, when graduates return these items.
On the 25th, 26th and 27th of April, Bonar Law will be hosting its third annual ‘Bengals’ Night Out’; it will feature 41 students, all performing an array of music, from vocals to a percussion ensemble of 27 students. The students are from grades 9 – 12, with all four grades being well represented.
The Miramichi Kinsmen and School District 16 are pleased to
accept film entries for the second annual Kin Film Festival. All School
District 16 students are invited to participate. Films can be submitted
in one of two categories: Open and The Kinsmen Category (The Communities Greatest Need). The top 10
films in each category will be screened on May 12th, 2012 at Miramichi
Empire Studio 5. Cash prizes of $500, $250 and $100 will be awarded for
the winners in each category.
