On April 28th the school will be hosting our Annual Yard Sale. The Graduation Fee of $ 125. is now due. Any student who has not taken care of this item of business Is asked to see a member of the Administation to work out a payment schedule.
Congratulations to the students and staff for joining the wellness movement and keeping the ball rolling! On Monday, March 20th, Mrs. Warman, Community School Coordinator, accepted a check for $500 from The Honourable Robert Trevors, Minister of Wellness, Culture and Sport as part of their wellness movement grants. BLMS continues to support wellness inititatives and projects that focus on healthy lifestyle changes and helping our students lead more active lives.
Dr. John McCann and Cst Lise Babineau, RCMP will be presenting an hour session on the dangers of illegal drugs, on April 3, 2012 @ 7:00pm, in the school theatre. We encourage parents and the general public to take advantage of this timely and informative session.
Teachers will be available to meet with Parents/Guardians on Thursday - March 22nd from 4:00pm - 7:00pm and again on Friday - March 23rd from 9:00am - 11:45am. Students will receive their "mini-reports" on Wednesday and it is our hope that this will be an excellent opportunity to meet with teachers, early in the semester. There will be no classes for students on Friday.
In an attempt to expose our students to the vast career opportunities out there for them, the first and hopefully annual Career Fair is taking place Tuesday, March 20th from 9-11am. Our guests are members of our community who have graciously agreed to volunteer their morning to help broaden our student's exposure to careers they may not even are aware that exist. With our emphasis being on trades and college we hope our students find something that perks their interest.
No classes for students - March 5 - 9th, 2012. We hope that everyone has a relaxing and safe break, filled with family, friends and laughter. Students return to class on Monday, March 12th.
On Wednesday, Feb 29th, students, staff and visitors to the school are encouraged to wear pink as a visible symbol of our desire to put a stop to bullying in school and in our communities.
