This year there will not be an exam week where students only come to school for exams. Instead we will have assessment week where testing will take place during regular class times. Students will have a regular class schedule except Friday which is a conflict day for any students who may have missed an assessment during the week. February first and second will be turn around days for teachers to mark, prepare report cards and get ready for semester two. As the Athletic Director at BLMS Mr. Woodburn wants to address a growing trend of students paying their athletic fees very late (i.e. after the season is finished) or not paying their fees at all. Like most issues it started small with only a few students having to be reminded to pay their fee but, every year he is forced to constantly speak to more and more students about not paying. This is upsetting because it is not fair to the students who pay their fees.

At BLMS we wanted to have our yearly tribute for Remembrance Day distributed evenly throughout the day. We broke it into 5 10-minute parts at the beginning of each class. We did "O Canada" sung by students in the three languages, a candle-light tribute to countries at war today, the Honour song and a laying of the poppies.
