Friday, November 27th seen students exposed to over 20 possible career choices. A big thank you goes out to these folks who came into the school for the entire morning and helped educate our students on careers that you would see in Kent County! Over 20 former graduates attended from both the arts and science backgrounds and we highligthed most of the trades in our area.

There will be school immunization program at Bonar Law on Tuesday November 24th. This year we will be doing Gr 9's & 10's.Gr 9 will be eligible to receive 2 vaccines: Meningoccal and Chicken pox.Gr 10 will be eligible to receive Chicken pox vaccine only.To help facilitate this, nurses are asking students to wear a short sleeve tee shirt or something similar. All students were given permission forms that were to be returned.

Parent teacher will take place this Thursday (Nov 19th) from 4:30 - 7pm and on Friday (Nov 20th) from 9am-12 noon. Report cards will be given out at those times. Teachers will be set up in the gym and cafeteria. There will be no classes for students on Friday. All staff will be involved in professional development sessions Friday afternoon. All parents and guardians are encouraged to take the time to meet with your son or daughters teachers.

Please take note of the following letter from Public Health. 2015-11-6 Bonar Law High School NOTICE TO PARENTS... Dear Parent(s), Public Health would like to advise you that there has been a second case of pertussis (Whooping cough) in your child’s school. A fact sheet with information was recently sent home on Pertussis. If your child develops symptoms like those described in the fact sheet, please see your family physician or go to an after-hours clinic and inform them that your child may have come in contact with whooping cough.

Parents and guardians are invited to complete an online survey on child care in New Brunswick as part of the public consultation being conducted by the Child Care Sector Task Force. The survey is available at : www.gnb.ca/engageNB  The survey will remain online until Nov. 2.  It represents a chance for New Brunswickers to tell the taskforce what kind of child care they are looking for, what options they have found, what works and what does not work in the current system.

For the first time in SHAD's history in New Brunswick they are offering a minimum of 25 scholarships of $2,000 each, available for New Brunswick students to go towards their fee for the SHAD summer program. In addition, they bursaries available for students who could not afford the program as they believe there should be no barriers to excellence.High-achieving students in grades 10, 11 and 12 can apply and to take advantage of this amazing opportunity and it costs nothing to apply!
