End of Year

With another year in the books for athletics and all sport seasons done, I wanted to say thanks to all the student athletes, coaches and families that supported the Bengals.  We are looking for a boys baseball coach and a girls basketball coach if anyone is interested or knows of anyone who might be interested please contact me at robert.woodburn@nbed.nb.ca.

Some notable accomplishments:

Boys Baseball placed 2nd at Provincials (losing to Rothesay High School)

Girls Wrestling placed 2nd at Provincials (losing to Oromocto High School)

Track & Field are the Provincial Champions (13th consecutive year)

Congratulations to all the teams and athletes and we will see you all in September.

Wrestling Provicial Results

The wrestling teams went to Oromocto over the weekend and placed very well.  Here are the indiviual results:

Dawson Wylie - Gold & MVP

Courtney Hibbert - Gold & MVP

Chase Murphy - Gold

Jada Levi-Ward - Gold

Jannah Levi-Ward - Gold

Cody Halas-Moulton - Bronze

The girls teram place 2nd only behind Oromocto high School, which is AAA (over 700 students).

Basketball Fees

The fees for basketball at BLMS are as follows:

Boys fee is $125

Girls fee is $75

All fees can be paid at the main office and athletes will be given receipts.  If you have any questions regarding fees or ahtletics please contact Mr. Rob Woodburn at 523-7163, or robert.woodburn@nbed.nb.ca

Baseball Games in Caraquet

The BLMS Baseball team travelled to Caraquet to play a couple games vs Caraquet & Shippigan and walked away with two very big wins.  The first game was against Caraquet where Tariq Sanipass pitched 6 strong innings and the team won 11-3.  The next game vs Shippigan Stone Millier took the mound and the boys thumped the Shippigan squad 22-4.  Great job guys!

BLMS is still trying to find a team to come to Rexton so they can show off their talents for the home crowd.

Boys Vball Game

The boys played the Blackville team last night and won 4-1 sets.  They played a great game and hustled hard.  They travel to Salisbury next Wed to play at 5:30pm.

Boys Volleyball

The boys went to Blackville last night.  For a young team with only 3 returning players they played very well and ended up winning 2 sets.  Unfortunately Blackville was able to take the deciding set and won 3-2.

Volleyball Schedule Changes

Please note the following schedule changes that will take place after March break:

Boys volleyball practices Mon & Thu 3:30-5pm.  Boys games will be played on Wed nights.

Girls volleyball practice Tue & Wed 3:30-5pm.  Girls games will be played on Thu nights.

Provincial Wrestling Results

It is with great pleasure that i can announce that the BLMS Wrestling teams had a fantastic weekend at Provincials.  The individual results were:

Austin Hibbert - 1st

Jannah Levi-Ward - 1st

Dawson Wylie - 2nd

Maddy Whalen - 2nd

Cody Halas-Moulton - 3rd

Curtis McKinnon - 4th

Jada Levi-Ward - 6th

Andrew Roberts - 6th

The girls teams finished the weekend in 2nd place, while the boys team placed 3rd.

Boys Vball Game

The boys travelled to Salisbury and beat JMA for the second time this season.  The sets were all really close but the boys walked away with the win.  During one set Janitzio Caravantes served 8 points in a row.

Ball Hockey Intramurals

There will be a mandatory GM meeting in the gym on Wed, Mar. 16, at lunch.  During the meeting the GM's will draft their teams for the up-coming ball hockey tournament.  The GM's are Noah Warren, Dylan Jones, Tristan Hannay & Treydon Simon.

The season is over and all basketball players are reminded that they must return their uniforms to Mr. Woodburn in the gym.
