Read the section on Geoffrey Chaucer and the whole Prologue to the Canterbury Tales over your long weekend.  Remember, Chaucer was writing about these characters for a reason--he wanted to give you a glimpse of society through his eyes!

Hello everyone. Today we covered Medieval Lyrics.  I will attach a group of lyrics to this email.  We only covered the WTF & FRIDTM (How to analyze a poem), the notes on Medieval lyrics, and 2 lyrics:  "Sumer is Icumen In" and "I Syng of a Myden."

We've started the Middle English period!!!!  Study your notes so far...review what was said in class.  Do you have any holes in your notes?  Do you need clarification?  Come to class with your questions and concerns. You need to understand what was happening during this time period in order to understand their poetry.
