After our Moosehorn/Laverty Falls hike we had some supper and played some night games.  Then we all sat around the campfire singing songs and telling stories.  The next day we tore down our campsite and headed off for our morning hike around Matthew's Head point.  The views were breathtaking but...

After kayaking we set up our camp site and changed into some clothes for the big hike.  We hiked Moosehorn & Laverty Falls.  The hike took about 3-4 hours but we stopped often and some of the brave people swam in the cold water.
Just a reminder to the OP students that they need to bring their $50 to me ASAP for the annual trip to Fundy taking place next weekend.  This money will cover the cost of kayaking and park pass for the duration of the trip.  If you have any questions contact Mr. Woodburn at 523-7163 or email at robert.woodburn@nbed.nb.ca   Check out some photos of the trip in my image gallery.

My OP students could not have asked for a better day on the challenge course.  Of course we got completely burnt due to the lack of sun screen, but all in all the students had a great time.  The day started with climbing the outside elements (Catwalk, Swinging log, Rickety bridge, Spinderella, Burma bridge, Log-drivers waltz & Multi-vine.  Each student was able to take part in the climb and belaying team in some way which added to the team building experience.  Later in the day we tackled the "Team all aboard"...a 2x2 foot platform on a 35 foot pole that 4 climbers must stand on and then hold themselves by leaning out over the edge!  This proved to be a great way to finish off the day. Special thanks to Eddie Pinder & Paul MacKinnon who were able to take time out of their weekend to help us out.  Check out the photo gallery for some pictures of the day.

My OP students have been climbing the walls waiting for better weather...plus we are getting ready for the big challenge course at MVHS.  The students will be leaving BLMS on May 2, at 8:30am and will return around 7:30pm.  Students are reminded that they must wear sneakers or closed-toed shoes...NO SANDALS!  Students also must bring a bag lunch and money for supper as we will be stopping to eat before returning home.  If you have any questions call Mr. Woodburn at 523-7163, or email at robert.woodburn@nbed.nb.ca Students have been busy tying knots, adjusting helmets & harnesses and locking their carabiners in place for the big climb.  Most of them feel that they are ready, but nothing will prepare them when they walk up to the 60ft structure and see it first hand.  You can see pictures of our prusik climbing & belaying in the picture gallery.
