My OP class has been climbing inside and practicing their belaying skills.  Nothing major, just to the top of the bleachers and back down, but it gives everyone a great chance to practice our ABC's & 4H's before we go to the big challenge course at MVHS.

The OP students have been in the great outdoors...well it is in the course title!!!  First we strapped on the snowshoes and hiked around the local trails.  The Annual Snowshoe Field Hockey Tournament proved to be a blast once again.  We are now cross country skiing and trying not to fall down.  The little hill behind the school was quite a challenge, but for the most part everyone made it down onto the river for a great ski.  We are still waiting for that big snow fall and we will start making our quinzees for our overnight exercise next week.

The second semester is off and running and that means more fun and games for the OP course.  Due to the really really really cold weather we did an activity with some milkcrates.  No touching the floor or it's back to the start!  The activity went really well and the students had a blast.  We are off to a great start working together and trusting one another.  I look forward to more activities.  Check out the pictures in the gallery on the right of this page.

The class discussed these questions in class.  Make sure you get the notes from this discussion from a classmate as it will be on a test/final exam. 1. How often do you eat fast food? 2. Do you feel you could not eat fast food when all your friends were? 3. Should fast food companies be held responsible for the obesity epidemic?  Why/why not? 4. Do you think BLMS offers nutritious meals?
