The Wessex Scholarship is a $5,000 award available to students from Atlantic Canada who are entering/already enrolled in a post-secondary degree level health care program in Atlantic Canada.
The application is attached and information is available as well at http://www.iwk.nshealth.ca/wessex Please note the deadline is extended to April 10, 2017.

South Eastern Mutual Insurance Scholarship
SouthEastern Mutual Insurance Company provides a special benefit to policyholders. Each year since 2002, the company has offered $6,000 in scholarships to policyholders and/or their dependents. Previously, the funds were allotted in twelve $500 scholarships. In 2016, we are offering six $1,000 scholarships. Education is costly and the Company is pleased to help offset the high cost of post-secondary education.

General Requirements of Eligibility
- The Applicant (or parent/guardian) must be a SouthEastern Mutual policyholder.
- The Applicant must complete an approved application form.
- The Applicant must show proof of acceptance or enrollment as a full time student at a post secondary educational institution (college or university).
- The Applicant may choose to submit a 30-60 second video or audio recording on the choice of 2 topics: SouthEastern Mutuals Present Day Company, or The History of SouthEastern Mutual.
- Successful Applicants must provide a recent colour photo to the Company for publication.
- The Applicant must not have received any scholarship monies from SouthEastern Mutual prior to this submission. (Applicants may receive only one scholarship from SouthEastern Mutual.)
- The Applicant must return the application form no later than 4:30 pm on May 15th to:

There will be four draws from each County for a total of twelve Scholarships each year. Applicants must have fully completed an approved application form and have submitted it to the office of SouthEastern Mutual by the required time and date specified above. SouthEastern Mutual will notify successful applicants by June 10th. Before issuing cheques on November 10th of the same year, the company will require successful applicants to provide proof of registration in a post-secondary institution. A copy of the paid tuition, a letter from the school or institution, or a photocopy of the student card are all examples of acceptable proofs of registration.

Feb. 9, 7 p.m. | Rodd Miramichi River
'Transition to UNB' event at the Rodd Miramichi River in Miramichi on Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. The event, hosted by recruitment staff, will focus on the differences between high school and university; support services offered at UNB; tips for living in residence; and advice on how to succeed academically.
Parents and students of all ages are welcome.

Cartier Co-operative is happy to announce two scholarships, to honour Mr. Leon Daigle, who is a pioneer of the Co-operative movement in this region. A scholarship will be given to a graduate student of the Bonar Law Memorial School and also to a graduate student of Mgr-Marcel-François-Richard School.
ELIGIBILITY: In order to be eligible the candidates must meet the following conditions:
- Be a grade 12 student and have the possibility of graduating;
- Be accepted as a student in a post-secondary institution:
- The candidate or one of the parents must be a member in good standing of Cartier Co-op Ltd.
AMOUNT OF EACH SCHOLARSHIP:
$500.00 payable in two payments: one half of scholarship payable in September and the second half payable in March.

Saint Mary's will be hosting a Next Steps Information Session at the Rodd Hotel in Miramichi on Feb. 13 at 7:00 pm.
The session will cover how to finance a university degree as well as other important information regarding residence and scholarship applications. They will be collecting updated transcripts from students who have already applied, as well as offer on the spot admissions with waived application fees for those who have not yet applied. Students can register for the event at connect.smu.ca/events.
