The McKenzie College will be having their Fall Open House on November 8th, 2013 from 12-3 pm. This is an exciting event for aspiring artists, photographers and designers to get a glimpse into our creative learning environment, while gaining more insight into educational and career options from those who know best: the students and faculty. There will be an Open House at Crandall University on Nov. 16, 2013 from 1-4 pm.  Get a complete overview of Crandall, tour campus, talk with professors, staff & students, & complete on-the-spot admissions.  Visit crandallu.ca to register.

St. Mary's University will be having an Open House on the following dates: Oct. 25, Nov. 16 and Nov. 22/13.  Please see smu.ca/openhouse for further information.   
Dalhousie University will be having an Open House on Oct. 18, 2013.  Both students and parents are invited to attend for those interested in attending DAL.  Students can pre-register at openhouse.dal.ca and select sessions based on personal areas of interest.  Lunch will be provided in one of the four dining halls.  There will be a chance to tour many of Dalhousie's traditional undergraduate residences and to participate in onsite admissions.

The selection process starts as of November 1 of each year. Complete applications will be considered as they are received as long as the candidate meets or is in the process of meeting the admission requirements. They process applications on a first-qualified, first-accepted basis. For administrative purposes, complete applications received on or before November 1 will be dated as of November 1. So the earlier you get your applications in, the better it is to improve your chances of admission.    
Each summer, the SMU writing centre offers graduating high school students an introduction to post-secondary academic skills.  Over two days (Aug. 15 and 16), the SMU Summer Writing Workshop presents students with insight into university-level writing and critical thinking.  The workshop is open to all students, not only those attending Saint Mary's.  Specific workshops include: -Thesis development -Critical thinking -Editing and proofreading -Citation and plagarism avoidance -Basic to advanced grammar -Exam preparation -Class note taking and listening skills   Total cost is $175.00 without residence and $205.00 with residence, including taxes, meals and all materials.  If interested please see Mrs. Pitre in Guidance for an application.
