The deadline for the Oulton Memorial Scholarships is coming up next week on May 15th. It is not too late for students to apply for the scholarship. The application form is on the Oulton website. They give out 28 scholarships of $1,000 each year to students who are going to Oulton.

The first of the UNB Fredericton Spring Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) events are coming up!

SOAR is an opportunity for students to meet their academic advisors, register for classes and meet other students in their faculty. It’s a day jam-packed with exciting information and advice that will get students ready for September. 
Students can find more information and how to register here.

If students are not able to make it in April, they have another opportunity to join the SOAR events in May.

Fredericton Campus: Saturday, April 28 & Saturday, May 26

Saint John Campus: Saturday, May 26

*On April 28, please note on the Fredericton campus that the Faculty of Education and Renaissance College will only be attending SOAR on April 28.

*On May 26, the Faculty of Engineering and Nursing will only be attending SOAR on the Fredericton campus. 

Important residence deadlines approaching


 

MAY 15 is UNB’s enrollment confirmation deadline. For students who have been accepted to either/both UNB Fredericton and UNB Saint John, we encourage students to choose their campus and confirm their enrollment.

Fredericton campus: The deadline to apply for residence is MAY 15. The residence application and the steps to apply will be included with your acceptance package and through your UNB Portal.

Saint John campus: Apply for residence on the Saint John campus any time after you have applied for admission. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis - so apply early!

For those students who are a member of the Immaculate Conception Church (Rexton) or the St. Peter's Church (South Branch) please see attached.  Note the deadline is May 29, 2018.

Century 21 A&T Countryside Realty Inc. plans to sponsor one $500 scholarship to a deserving High School graduate who is going onto post-secondary education in any field in the fall.

The student efforts should have made a positive impact or change on their school or community while overcoming personal challenges. We are looking for that special individual who has overcome diversity to make a difference.

Qualifications: To qualify, you must be graduating from Grade 12, and enrolling in a post-secondary program at a recognized college, private institution, or university in a business-related field. This award is not necessarily about good marks! It’s about an individual who makes an effort every day!

 General Requirements of Eligibility:

1. The Applicant (or parent/guardian) must have an active SouthEastern Mutual home, tenant, farm or commercial policy.                  

2. The Applicant must completed the application form.                                                  

3. The Applicant must provide a current transcript from the school, college or university attended in the past year (if the Applicant is a mature student please note such on the application).  A minimum average of 70% is required.                                                      

4. The Applicant must show proof of acceptance or enrolment as a full time student at a post-secondary educational institution (college oruniversity).                                                

5. The Applicant may choose to submit a 30-60 second video or audio recording on the choice of two topics:  Southeastern Mutual - present day company or the history of Southeastern Mutual (photos used must not be copyright protected).                                  

6. The Applicant must provide a recent colour photo, with their application, to Southeastern Mutual for possible publication.             

7. The Applicant must not have received any scholarship monies from Southeastern Mutual Insurance prior to this submission (Applicants may receive only one scholarship from Southeastern Mutual).                                                                               

8. The Applicant must return the application form no later than 4:30 pm on May 15th to:

ELIGIBILITY
• Current resident of NB, NS or NFLD.
• Current Secondary Student (or has graduated within the past 12 months).
• Accepted and entering a Canadian College or University in the 2018/19 academic year.
• Proof of acceptance to at least one Canadian College or University. This does not have to be from
the College/University you plan to attend. If you are selected as the scholarship recipient, we will
confirm where you will be attending at that time.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Demonstrated leadership and a strong commitment to his/her community through initiating
innovative community projects and/or volunteerism.
• Letter of recommendation from your current school, written and signed by principal, teacher or
guidance counsellor (no electronic signatures).
• Letter of recommendation from community group or individual(s) that you supported (no
electronic signatures). If your community project was affiliated with your school, it is acceptable to have
two letters of recommendation from your school.
• Official Transcripts (most recent).

Note the deadline is June 30, 2018.
