Hey everyone!Today we went over a formative presentation assignment. This is a presentation where you will get some feedback on your speaking and presentation skills from your peers and myself. You will then take this feedback and apply it to your summative presentation project to make it that much better :) Remember, the summative one is due Dec. 11th. I've attached all the details for this formative assignment below. Presentations for this begin on Monday, Dec. 2nd.

Hello there,Here's what is happening this week: Monday - reading/project work on your autobiography/biography/memoir presentation. Again, don't leave this until the last minute. Presentations begin Dec. 11th. Don't hesitate to come see me if you have any questions! I've attached the project outline if you were absent the day we went over it last week.Tuesday/Wednesday - reading "The Bet" by Anton Chekhov and group work to discuss and questions. Groups present their findings. This is a great story that could lead to some debate!Thursday - Summative in class Short Story assessment. Remember, you need to be reading your nonfiction text at home. I'll give some class time, but not enough to finish your book by Dec. 6th! Budget your time wisely :)

Hey there,Today, in class, we discussed "Mirror Image"by Lena Coakley. Great discussion of allegory!Also, you were given the short story "The Veldt" by Ray Bradbury as well as a few questions to answer. This is an example of science fiction / fantasy genre. Have these done by Nov. 12th and be ready for discussion.FYI: for the rest of the week we are revising your short story drafts! Bring a USB so you can save your work because we will be in the lab for the next two classes. Final copies of your story are due THIS FRIDAY, Nov. 8th. Remember to include all copies of drafts as well as all peer feedback you got too. I can't wait to hear them Friday!

Hey folks,- Today you had some time to start your Text of the week in class, be sure to hand it in tomorrow if you didn't today.- We also did a mini lesson on how to punctuate dialogue. I expect it to be done correctly in your short story! - Short Story quiz tomorrow Oct. 29th- Short Story draft is due Friday Nov. 1st. Be ready for peer conferencing.
