Hey folks, We have just finished Part One of To Kill A Mockingbird. If you have missed time, be sure to keep up and have up to chapter 12 finished. There will be a TEST on Part One on Friday, April 15th. We will review in class on Thursday.
REMINDER! This independent novel assignment is due on April 27th. There will no time in class to work on this project besides our regular reading period every Wednesday. Plan accordingly. The good copy of your essay is due on April 21st. Remember to use the rubrics we looked at in class for each of the 6 traits: ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions. Class time will be given this Friday to work on this but you will need to finish the good copy at home.

Here are questions to hand in for chapter 2 and 3 of TKAM.   Chapter 2 & 3 Questions —  Is a person’s identity greatly determined by his/her family and by the way that society views the family? Is this true of Walter Cunningham? Of Burris Ewell? Of Miss Caroline Fisher? —  Atticus says, “In certain circumstances the common folk judiciously allowed them certain privileges by simple method of becoming blind to some of the Ewells’ activities.” Is it fair or appropriate to bend the rules? Laws? Why or why not? Explain.   Homework tonight, April 6th: Read chapter 4 and 5. There will be a short quiz on these chapters tomorrow.
