Bengals' Night Out - by Jack Hawkins

Posted: April 26, 2012

On the 25th, 26th and 27th of April, Bonar Law will be hosting its third annual ‘Bengals’ Night Out’; it will feature 41 students, all performing an array of music, from vocals to a percussion ensemble of 27 students. The students are from grades 9 – 12, with all four grades being well represented. After the vocals and other performances, there will be a twenty minute intermission, during which dessert will be served, along with coffee, tea and water for beverages. Following the intermission, the evening will reach its thrilling conclusion with eleven percussion performances performed by a group called “Bengal Beats”. “Bengal Beats” is the name of the percussion ensemble; it is the brainchild of Megan Woodburn, who says “Once the show gets going, it’s all run by the students.” She has been working with students to produce a fantastic display of some of the finest music that Bonar Law has to offer. The performance will use Bonar Law’s brand new sound system which was installed this fall. The three evenings of performances have almost sold out, but there are still a few tickets left, so hurry in and catch an amazing musical performance!
