Agropur Agriculture and Food Science Scholarship

  • Open to all New Brunswick students, attending a post-secondary institution, the coming scholastic year (2016/2017), in a field relating to Agriculture or Food Science.
  • Available are 2 one-time scholarships of $2,500. Monies will be paid after the first semester.
  • Submission must include the following: name, current institution of study (if applicable), institution you are attending in the fall, program of study, 2 completed essays, official transcript and two letters of reference.

Essay 1 - approximately 250 words
How will getting your education further your future in agriculture or food science?

Essay 2 - approximately 250 words
If you could develop a custom product with a lot of dairy in it, what would it be and why?

Submission deadline is March 21, 2016. Everything can be emailed to scholarships@dairytown.com, or mailed to Agropur, Scholarship Committee, PO Box 5124, Sussex, NB E4E 5L2.

Advance Savings Credit Union and Harry M. Daley bursaries

ASCU will again be offering up to 5 bursaries for $1000.00 each, as indicated deadline for submission is April 15, 2016.  All submissions should be sent to Admin attention Christina.

The John Helou Scholarship will award up to two Canadian youth with the financial support they need to overcome the financial obstacles that come with a personal or familial diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, enabling them to reach their full potential and become the next generation of MS leaders. The recipients must be enrolled in a science, technology, engineering or math undergraduate program. Recipients of the John Helou Scholarship will receive $6,250/year for four years to apply to tuition– for a total scholarship of $25,000.

Applications are being accepted for this scholarship between now and March 31, 2016 at https://juno.aucc.ca/app/mssociety.html. Please see the attached posters for additional information including eligibility criteria. The information can also be found on our website: www.mssociety.ca/scholarships.

 The John Helou Scholarship is available solely due to the generous financial support of Pfizer and Innovative Medicines Canada.

CODE's Burt Award for First Nations, Inuit & Métis Literature

DEADLINE: March 31, 2016

Eligible manuscripts and books published between February 15, 2015 and March 31, 2016 must be submitted by publishers no later than March 31, 2016.
 
Established by CODE in collaboration with the Literary Prizes Foundation, the Burt Award for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Literature is given annually to English language literary works for young adults by First Nations, Inuit, or Métis authors.
A first prize of $12,000, a second prize of $8,000 and a third prize of $5,000 will be awarded to the authors and translators (if applicable) of the winning titles.
Publishers of winning titles will be awarded a guaranteed purchase of a minimum of 2,500 copies, which will be delivered to First Nations, Inuit and Métis youth across Canada.
